PNY 512MB Flash Drive is Really 1GB…Error in Your Favor!

Sometimes, a mistake pops up in even the most stringent quality control environments. Go to http://tiger.tv/more_info/?737 to take advantage! Sometimes it causes a nuclear shutdown across several states. Other times (like this one!) you get a bunch of high-quality PNY flash drives that are badged as 512MB capacity but can really hold a whole gigabyte of storage data! This is bad for PNY, because it’s hard to sell typo drives. This is good for you because you get a full gigabyte of solid state storage for extremely cheap! Order yours today, because you’d better believe they’re not going to make the same mistake twice!

SSD Solid State SATA Drive Upgrade for Apple MacBook

http://mac-ssd-drives.com/ A low-price SSD disk drive upgrade for my aging 1st generation Core Duo MacBook proved easy and fast do to. Taking advantage of a rebate, I found a bargain on a 30GB cheap Solid Series MLC solid state drive from OCZ for under $75 and installed a clean OS X 10.5 Leopard onto it in half the time it’d normally take.

To maximize performance, I also doubled the RAM in my MacBook to minimize disk swaps to virtual memory. Current SSD drive technology tends to read data far faster than it writes, so minimizing virtual memory swapping by maxing out installed RAM is smart.

This particular SSD model claims read speeds of about 150mb/sec, Writes around 90mb/sec - which easily beats most hard drives hands down. For higher performance - check out the specs on the new rip snortin’ Apex and Vertex series SSD’s from OCZ at http://www.ssd-solid-state-drives.com/
