Can u use Sata/raid what ever you call them and IDE hard drives in the same pc?
Ive just recently purchased a sata hard drive up till now Ive been using to 120gb IDE ones and after pluged in in the sata one it doesn’t show up. it shows up when loading windows you can go into the Raid config Utility and stuff and it knows it there although the bios doesn’t notice it and nore does windows!
1. Can u use both types in the same pc?
2. If so how do i set it up? to work Ive installed some drives in windows although it doesn’t show up as a hard drive.
Yes, it will work, for Windows XP for sure. In the BIOS you choose SATA + IDE, or something similar.
In Windows 98, the drives might run in compatibility mode.
What I really suggest, is buying one of those IDE to SATA converters. Sometimes, they are built into an enclosure and you need to remove it. Find a local computer store and ask for a IDE to SATA converter.

you should be able to….You may need to format the new drive and using an XP install disc.
